This spring the three of us went into a tiny little studio at Fairhaven College in Bellingham with violinist Tyler Carson and engineer Lisa Finkral to record this song for a music video and this is what came out. We’re rather pleased. The video isn’t done yet, but the music is available here!

Sitting in my home studio, doing some last tweaks to the mix. My album is almost done!!

I (Nick) am working away on my solo CD right now in anticipation of it’s August 30th release at our Farewell For Now shows at the Triple Door, and I’m pretty excited. I’ll have more information on the album very soon, but I just wanted to let y’all know that if you want one, that would be a great time to pick one up. It will be a night to remember… A Farewell For Now, and a CD Release party. It’s going to be a blast. There are still some tickets available, so if you want ‘em, get ‘em guick!

Sadly, chances to see The Senate are dwindling quickly as we approach the end of the month. So if you haven’t seen us in a while, or even if you have, why not come on out?

This week we’ll be playing at Bake’s Place in Issaquah on Friday night, and we’re headed back to the wonderful people of the Port Angeles area for a show at Olympic Cellars Winery at 7 pm on Saturday. We hope to see you there!

May 22nd will be no exception. Seriously, we’ll be handing out moist towlettes for you to wipe your face off the table after the show.

Our longtime friend and promoter Brian Robinson passed away on Saturday night of natural causes. We send our condolences to his family and closest circle of friends. 

Brian’s influence and guidance helped The Senate tremendously through our youth as a band. He helped us navigate the murky waters between playing music as a group, and becoming a band. His only request to us was that we become better at our little parts of the whole, and in doing so make the whole bigger than it’s little parts.  Brian was constantly pushing us, prodding us, encouraging us to step outside of what we thought we could do. He made us better musicians, better performers, better writers and better people. He was a consummate giver, and he was a friend.

It is no exaggeration to say we would not be the band we are today, without Brian. The sweet sounds of his beloved Phish carried him to a better place. He will be missed.
