Buzzin’ Light

Everyone knows
We can come undone
’cause the devil he walks
and drinks from the sun
Well that whiskey is sacred
as the life that it gave
The water of sorrow
is as old as the grave
And it shine shine shines down down on me
I’m kickin’ the dirt
to uncover some truth
looking for faith
just gets mud on my boots
The devil he drinks
to forget what he’s done
And I’m drinking with him
from the burning sun
And it shine shine shines down down on me
Oh my baby left me
Took my cigarettes
I would smoke ‘em all to seal away my regret
Oh the whiskey’s helpin’
Hit the bottle, son
Just do what you can
to keep your buzzin’ light on
Ha! Gracious god are you?
Held up by the towers built for a few
But my buzzin’ light
flickers on the pew
I’ll leave a foot for Jesus if the devil can dance too
Shine shine shine down down on me
Oh my baby left me
Took my cigarettes
I would smoke ‘em all to seal away my regret
Oh the whiskey’s helpin’
Hit the bottle, son
Just do what you can
to keep your buzzin’ light on
