Man in the Moon

Well I don’t know where they’ve gone
but they’re gone every day
when the living is over
and body breaks
Some say we fly
Won’t you ease my mind
ease my mind
yeah
Well there’s a man in the moon
Every little boy can see
There’s a man in the moon
and he’s watching me
He says
I want you to know
when you’re ready come find me
I want you to see
with the man in the moon is where I’ll be
It was a beautiful day
when my Grandfather died
A beautiful day
the sky was big blue and wide
And on new wings he rose
like an old whippoorwill
he drifted away
and they lifted him still
It’s the man in the moon, i said
every little boy can see
There’s a pain in the walls of this heart like a dart
and the pain is with me
He says
I want you to know
when you’re ready come find me
I want you to see
with the man in the moon is where I’ll be
It’s the man in the moon, i said
above the wide open sky
my grandfather’s waiting there
smiling into the night
He says
I want you to know
when you’re ready come find me
I want you to see
with the man in the moon is where I’ll be
that’s where i’ll be
