Poetry of Rain

I fight the sunlight to keep darkness in my mind
I beg the moon expose the dark that makes me blind
Somehow I fear I’ve been here before
Cornered by a wind that blows down my last door
Who do I live for?
Wish I could dream the world away
Find myself in another place
Somewhere where I could be with you
And get lost in the poetry of rain
well diamond rings and shiny things go well
I carve the earth up for my show-and-tell
But sooner or later we will find
With all that digging we buried our minds
They’re indicatively enshrined
Wish I could dream the world awake
Get some love here for goodness sake
So that I can go walking with you
And get lost in the poetry of rain
The Higher you climb, baby the further you fall
Wish I could shake the world awake
tell them all its been a big mistake
I’ve grown so tired of being used
That I get lost In the poetry of rain
